Several Injured as In-Flight Disturbance Hits A Delta Airlines Aircraft into Sydney
Several people have been injured following a Delta Airlines flight traveling from LA to Sydney, Australia was hit by significant turbulence Friday morning.
Delta Flight 41 "experienced a brief period of turbulence" as it made its approach and landed at the Sydney airport, a company official informed. Four flight attendants required medical attention.
Local paramedics stated they assessed a total of five people, and took a trio to the hospital with relatively minor issues that included back pain and migraines. Those affected were between their 30s up to the 70s.
This marks the most recent case of planes experiencing severe turbulence, with researchers pointing out that climate change is a significant contributor.
There were 245 people and fifteen staff members on the Airbus A350, the official said, clarifying that the plane touched down "safely and normally" at the airport at 06:48 local time on Friday.
Emergency responders said they were alerted just a mere three minutes prior to the plane arrived, and ambulances were waiting on the tarmac.
