Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
He saved 4 early-game opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
